The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home with a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household cash flow doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their website South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in here South Africa.
